What is FCL ocean freight?

FCL is *Full Container Load*, which is when you require and pay for the entire shipping container for your shipment.

What is LCL ocean freight?

LCL is *Less-than Container Load* shipment. This means your goods will share container space with others, but you only pay for the space that your shipment occupies.

What’s the best method for shipping my goods?

This entirely depends on what you’re shipping, what your schedule is, and what your budget will allow. Air Freight is the fastest method, but it can be costly, if you have more time, ocean freight will be the best option.

SHIPPING KNOWLEDGE

FCL is an abbreviation for “Full Container Load”. FCL term is used in ocean freight service describing full container shipping from one place to another (port to port). FCL usually associates one shipper and one consignee. Full container shipping usually brings lower cost, than equivalent size and weight of cargo bulk.

LCL is an abbreviation for “Less than Container Load”. This shipping term is commonly used to describe an international ocean freight service that designed for shipping boxed, crated or palletized cargo from or to the USA that cannot fill an entire 20 or 40 foot sea freight container.

When you share a 40-foot sea freight container with one or more exporters that import or export goods to or from the USA, the transit time will be the same and you pay only for the space used in a container, but not for a whole sea freight container.

LCL ocean freight rates are calculated by volume or by weight – whichever is greater. You may save on inland trucking. If you self-deliver your boxed, crated or palletized goods, to an ocean freight carrier’s shipping terminal at origin.

In the International shipping industry, the term of Ocean Freight means the price paid by shipper for the transfer (sailing) his/her cargo from ocean freight carrier’s terminals in Countries of Origin to Destinations terminal.

PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT

Once booking made and confirmed. Be prepared on ISF filing prior loading at origin & submit Customs entry filing before your sea freight arrive to the destination. This is required by the import laws of the United States and currently for ocean shipment import to U.S.A only.

Surrendered properly endorsed original bill of lading and remit freight payment to release agent upon shipment arrival for cargo release.

Call Warehouse station or Freight terminal to ensure freight availability and the last free day of your shipment prior to arrangement of pick up. Note that there may be warehouse fee involved on all LCL shipment. These charges are not related to the ocean freight but require to payable to the destination port station (CFS – Container Freight Station). charges vary depending on commodity, weight and volume.

If trucking is required, please feel free to call our office to inquire, we can provide one stop shopping for all your freight and transport needs at a very comparative price.

Our goal is to save you time, money & provide you with a most pleasant shipping experience.
